Let Me Go - Lyrics

Love that once hung on the wall
Used to mean something, but now it means nothing
The echoes are gone in the hall
But I still remember, the pain of December
Oh, there isn’t one thing left you could say
I’m sorry it’s too late
I’m breaking free from these memories
Gotta let it go, just let it go
I’ve said goodbye, set it all on fire
Gotta let it go, just let it go
You came back to find I was gone
And that place is empty, like the hole that was left in me
Like we were nothing at all
It’s not what you meant to me, thought we were
meant to be
Oh, there isn’t one thing left you could say
I’m sorry it’s too late
I’m breaking free from these memories
Gotta let it go, just let it go
I’ve said goodbye, set it all on fire
Gotta let it go, just let it go
(And let it go) And now I know
(A brand new life) Is down this road
(And when it’s right) You always know
(So this time) I won’t let go
There’s only one thing left here to say
Love’s never too late
I’ve broken free from those memories
I’ve let it go, I’ve let it go
And two goodbyes led to
this new life
Don’t let me go, don’t let me go
Don’t let me go (x4)
Won’t let you go, don’t let me go (x4)

NEWS: Get all the details on Miley Cyrus' iHeart Radio Music Festival performance
"I went for a black wedding dress by Monique [Lhuillier]. She was awesome when I met her, she was really sweet. I found a dress and she made it for me in black and tailored it to me. I had black nails. The wedding was at a castle in the South of France and we stayed up till 6 in the morning."
The rocker, who was previously married to musician Deryck Whibley, added: "It's nice being with another musician and I was not planning on being with another musician. But it's cool cause he really understands what I do."
And another artist who understands what Avril does is rapper Drake.
Avril shares a bit of what it's like being a fan in Las Vegas for the festival: "The best part was I was watching Katy Perry last night and Drake was there watching. He was so excited to meet me. He said, 'I listened to you growing up.' And I go, 'Oh my god! How old are you?' He goes, 'Twenty six. You hold a very special place in my heart.'"
NEWS: Avril flashes her spiked bra
Another artist Avril has love for is Miley Cyrus, who performed before Avril at the music festival. When asked how Avril felt about the 20-year-old's irreverent MTV Video Music Award performance, she shared: "It's actually really funny cause my managers also manager her. She is doing her thing right now and she is kicking ass, so good for her."
And once Avril leaves Sin City, she's set to celebrate her 28th birthday. So what's the "Here's To Never Growing Up" singer have planned for the big day?
NEWS: See Avril pull a Miley move!
"My husband is in South America for the Rock in Rio [festival] with Nickelback and is flying back to L.A. to meet me for my birthday. He gets in the morning of my birthday. We are going to be together. That's all I want for my birthday, I am really excited!"

Rock N Roll Lyrics

Let em know that we’re still Rock n Roll

I don’t care about my makeup
I like it better with my jeans all ripped up
Don’t know how to keep my mouth shut
You say so what (what)

I don’ t care if I’m misfit
I like it better than the hipster of all shit
I am the mother fucking princess
You still love me

Some some how
It’s a little different when
I’m with you
You know what I really am
On the phone
You know how it really goes

Some some way
We’ll be getting out of this
Time one day
You’re the only that I
Want with me
You know how the story goes

When it’s you and me
We don’t need no one to tell us who to be
We’ll keep turning up the radio
Well it’s you and I
Just put up a middle finger to the sky
Let them know we’re still rock 'n roll

Rock ‘n roll
Hey hey hey
Rock ‘n roll
Hey Hey Hey

Don’t get a bad attitude dude
I’m never going to cover up that tattoo
I might have a couple issues
You say me too (yeah)

Don’t care about a reputation
Must be living in the wrong generation
This is your invitation

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger marry

Avril Lavigne married the man of her dreams, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, in a romantic ceremony in the so

uth of France this week, covered exclusively by HELLO! magazine.
Canada’s king and queen of rock’n’roll said “I do” on 1 July – a year after they started dating – in the glittering Chateau de la Napoule, a medieval castle close to Cannes.
The intimate and emotional candlelight ceremony was the highlight of a three-day celebration for 110 of their closest friends and family.

“I wanted to make sure it’s a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests,” said Avril, 28, who donned a black tulle Monique Lhuillier gown to walk up the aisle.

The musical duo had fallen in love last year while recording Avril’s fifth studio album. And, after a whirlwind week in Paris, which Avril calls the most romantic of her life, Chad, 38, proposed on 8 August 2012. “It was very natural. We were friends having a good time and then it just happened,” Avril told HELLO!.
Said Chad: “It felt like fate was intervening and I was just being given this wake-up call: don’t let this one get away.”

Like everything in this pair’s life, wedding planning was a team effort – but both readily admit that the bride took control. “I’ve been planning this wedding for a really long time,” Avril told HELLO!. “I showed him everything and he let me take the reins and bounce ideas off of him.”

The result was a picture-perfect start to their fairytale life together.

“When you’ve got that ring on your finger that you get to look at every single day, and you get to call that other person husband or wife, it’s a really special feeling,” said Chad.
“We hope to be together forever," added Avril. "One day down the road we’ll have a family. I look forward to growing with Chad.”

Avril Lavigne Foundation helping those with disabilities

Singer Avril Lavigne during the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, June 19, 2011.
Avril Lavigne has a link on her website that reads "CHARITY" which the curious web surfer finds intriguing enough to click on. What you find is something that is not seen very often from any other artist out there. Most celebrities donate money to charity, which is a wonderful thing, Lavigne has a slightly different approach to how she works with charities.
Avril Lavigne submerges herself in the trenches when she works with charities. She is right there working with people, asking questions and helping in any way that she can. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty in order to do a good thing. If you ask her, she isn't doing it out of obligation, she isn't doing it to make her reputation better, she does it because that is what is in her heart. She donates her time, money, and skills in order to make the world a better place. It is apparent by the look on her face in the videos she posts of her working with disabled children at camps.
Even if you are a rocker who is supposed to have an edgy, hardcore side, that doesn't mean you have to give up on your soft side as well. People will love and adore you all the same if you just show some love in return. Now Lavigne will be sending children to this camp, in one video an attendee of the camp told Lavigne that camp was the reason he was not angry about his disability and how he lives life. He says without camp, he doesn't know how miserable his life would be. Another woman in the video says when she is at camp, her wheelchair becomes invisible and is a non-issue. She says it is the only place in which she can feel completely normal. One of the counselors said that at camp, they are the strange ones, everyone else is normal.
Lavigne is starting a fund which will help 50 people with disabilities attend the camp who otherwise would not have been able to afford it. Lavigne sets an example here, and there is a lesson to be learned here.

Avril Lavigne's Favorite Things

Avril opens up about love, her new album, and which curse word she has tattoed on herself twice

Favorite Radio Head Song:
Creep.

Favorite Thing About Growing Up:
Learning about yourself and who you are.

Favorite thing to get drunk on:
For me, I’ve been drinking champagne these days...  Mellow. Normally I’m a vodka girl, but not anymore these days [laughing]. I wouldn’t be able to wake up in the morning at all if I was hung over.

Favorite time of day to write music:
I’m a night person, so definitely at night. Probably like, yeah anywhere between, like, 5:00 to 4:00 in the morning.

Favorite place to wake up:
At home in my bed [laughing]. Because whenever I’m there, which isn’t very often, it’s like, ‘Yes my bed! Yes, my pillow [laughing].' Oh and I actually love sleeping on a tour bus believe it or not. It’s like, it’s soothing. It’s like, I don’t know what it is and being in a bunk too. Like, I have a room in the back so if I can’t sleep I go to a bunk. I don’t know why. It’s really dark.

Favorite thing to watch re-runs of:
I never really got that much into TV shows, but. I like watching, um, like all the Christmas movies they play every year like The Grinch, and all the traditional ones.

Favorite curse word:
F***, and it’s tattooed on my rib cage. I have the word f*** tattooed on me twice. That one says F You [laughs, points to the tattoo on her fingers]. Right here it doesn’t heal. I’ve had it done twice so it kind of looks like a prison tattoo... they just never healed there.

Favorite way to waste time:
Going online maybe? TV and emails.

Favorite color you’ve ever dyed your hair:
Green.

Favorite way to piss of your manager:
By not answering my emails or my text messages. I get so many emails, it’s ridiculous.

Favorite song to belt:
My favorite song of mine on stage “I’m with you.” I belt that one.

Favorite thing to sing about:
I’ve written so many songs about love, and on this album, I’m going to go somewhere else... other subjects like, there’s a song called “Rock N Roll” and a song called “Hello Kitty,” and, “Seventeen” [that deal with] other topics. So, I’m happy about that. I have so many boy-bashing, or break-up and love songs...  there are a lot of different, other topics on this album.
The album's really diverse, there are more pop songs like ["Here's To Never Growing Up"], but it's got piano ballads, and I have a duet with Chad, and I have a rock tune called “Bad Girl,” and Marilyn Manson sings on it. My “Hello Kitty” song has like, kind of an electronic feel. It’s all over the place.

Favorite gift you ever received from a fan:
In Japan, they write on stationary and they’re very proper over there, and they write really nice letters. They’ve got a lot of Hello Kitty stationary and little Hello Kitty gifts. I have a storage unit, and I keep all my fan mail. That’s funny now that I think about it, you don’t get as much fan mail these days because everyone is tweeting you. The stuff that they send though in the mail, sometimes it’s amazing art, pictures that they like make with your logo, with your image and all. I used to have it all under my bed on my first record because I still lived with my parents. There was fan mail under my bed! Now I’ve got a storage unit.

Favorite thing about anticipating the release of new music:
People get excited in the beginning and everything is fresh. After spending a year writing and recording, to be able to switch it up and go back out on the road again, is always nice. I like having the diversity of either being in the studio or being on the road.

Favorite thing about being in love:
I’m not happy unless I am. It just feels empty. So it’s nice to have that.

HTNGU - mmva rehearsal - VIDEO

Avril Lavigne is a lady in red as she ditches her skater style for night out with fiance Chad Kroeger

On Thursday, as Avril Lavigne posed at the Songwriters Hall Of Fame event in New York City with her fiance Chad Kroeger, her panda eyes remained but the songstress ditched the ripped tees for a seriously feminine red, flowing dress.
The 28-year-old was sure to keep her rocker bling intact, however, as the couple attended the event that celebrates songwriters' achievements and promotes the development of new talent via scholarships and workshops.

Avril revealed how her relationship with Chad Kroeger 'blossomed naturally', and that their romance was centered around 'music'.
Speaking to the New York Post, she said: 'We met in the studio. We started dating July 1 - Canada Day. He proposed in the studio a month later after we were dating.'

With such a high-profile love life, the Sk8er Boi hitmaker revealed she tries to avoid getting 'too caught up' in life as a star, adding: 'It's very rare that I meet people in the industry that are down to earth.'
'Normal people [can] get really caught up in their celebrity and who they are as a star. For me I've always made sure to turn it on when I need it to turn on and turn it off when I need it to turn off.'
'I am a normal human being. I like to be home and with my family. I spent 10 years living in Los Angeles and I moved away from LA now to make sure I don't get too caught up.

Billboard: "Here's To Never Growing Up is just getting started"

Chart success for pop singer's new single sets a promising stage for L.A. Reid-helmed Epic debut.

Before Avril Lavigne performed her new single, "Here's to Never Growing Up," on NBC's "Today" on May 17, the pop singer/songwriter smiled and waved to a special fan in the audience: Antonio "L.A." Reid, chairman/CEO of her new label, Epic Records. Although Reid doesn't drop by every Epic artist's TV performance, he made a special point of being there for the 29-year-old Lavigne, whom he signed to Arista when she was a teenager and whose 2002 debut album, "Let Go" (6.8 million copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan), he executive-produced.
A decade later, Reid is overseeing Lavigne's return to pop prominence, after the singer left RCA Records and joined Epic in late 2011. The brilliantly bratty "Here's to Never Growing Up" jumped 60-30 on last week's Billboard Hot 100 (it's now No. 31), while Lavigne returned to the top 10 of the Social 50 chart for the first time in two years, with 15 million overall plays to her name. And those accomplishments occurred before Reid watched Lavigne tear through the lead single from her forthcoming fifth album.
"My relationship with her has been this way since the day I met her, and my guess is that it will always be this way," Reid says. "She's a superstar. I think she's motivated now, and I expect that she'll do really well."
Thanks partly to the "Today" stop, "Here's to Never Growing Up" notches its second-biggest sales frame this week with 79,000 downloads, up from 62,000, according to SoundScan. The single's cumulative sales stand at 329,000 downloads since its April 9 release, but the longevity of the song -- and perhaps of Lavigne's stateside comeback in general -- will depend on radio. "What the Hell," the lead single from Lavigne's 2011 album "Goodbye Lullaby," peaked at No. 27 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart and No. 8 on Mainstream Top 40, failing to repeat the success of her last big hit, the Hot 100-topping "Girlfriend" in 2007. "Here's to Never Growing Up" moves up two spots on the Mainstream Top 40 chart, and shifts 67-66 on Hot 100 Airplay.
"It's just getting going," WHTZ (Z100) New York PD Sharon Dastur says of "Here's to Never Growing Up." Z100 has played the song 85 times through May 20, according to Nielsen BDS, and Dastur believes the guitar-laden track fits comfortably next to rock-tinged top 40 fare like Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons and Icona Pop. "It's still in a newer rotation because we want to make sure it's familiar," Dastur says, "but the early signs we're seeing look really strong, and we're seeing the same thing at some of our sister stations around the country."
As Epic hopes to turn a corner of sorts and deliver the first major hit of the Reid era, Lavigne has relentlessly promoted her new radio offering: She asked fans to submit photos and videos for the song's lyric video in March, released its official music video on May 9, performed the track on "Dancing With the Stars" on May 14 and did extensive radio promotion following her "Today" performance. Lavigne is also beguiling pop fans with a love story: She and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, who co-wrote "Here's to Never Growing Up," got engaged after sharing the studio for Lavigne's new album. "Our relationship started off by writing songs together," Lavigne says. Reid adds that Kroeger "has been one of the greatest songwriters of the last 10 years."
Also crucial for Lavigne is releasing an album with more hits than just its lead single -- after all, "Let Go" became the singer's top seller on the strength of such top 10 hits as "Complicated," "Sk8er Boi" and "I'm With You." However, manager Larry Rudolph is optimistic about her Epic debut. "The second single is equally as strong and has an equal amount of edge," he says. "We're going to hit two home runs in a row."
Lavigne's still-untitled new album is due in September, with touring details in support of the full-length still being discussed.
